2N was founded in Prague in 1991 and over the years shifted its focus from telecommunications solutions to IP technology and modern access control systems. In 2008 it introduced the first IP intercom, setting an important direction for digital communication at building entrances. Since 2016, 2N has been part of the Axis group, which further links its solutions with network video surveillance and security. Smart and mobile access control

Access control is one of the key parts of the 2N ecosystem. The 2N Access Unit 2.0 and 2N Access Unit M readers combine a reader and a controller in a single device, which simplifies installation and door management. The system can use several access technologies, including RFID cards, PIN, QR code and mobile phone. WaveKey, 2N’s patented Bluetooth technology, deserves special mention: it enables fast and secure unlocking with a smartphone. Depending on the configuration, the user can open the door by touching the reader, with a hand gesture, with a virtual card or directly from the app.

In buildings with many users, access rights can be assigned and changed centrally, without physically handing over keys or cards. This is practical for residential buildings, offices, holiday apartments and other properties where access rights change frequently.

Indoor units and the My2N app

For communication inside the building, 2N offers design-matched indoor units such as the 2N Indoor View, Indoor Compact, Clip and Indoor Talk. They let the user see or hear the visitor, talk to them and unlock the door without going to the entrance. The system is further extended by the My2N App, which turns a smartphone into a mobile access and communication unit. With the app, the user can receive a call from the intercom, see who is at the door, open the entrance and manage guest access.

A guest can, for example, be sent a time-limited PIN or QR code, and access can be revoked whenever needed. Combined with the My2N cloud platform, calls, access rights, users and devices can be managed in one place, which simplifies everyday use and system administration.

2N and KNX in a single system

One of the greatest advantages of 2N solutions is their openness to integration. IP intercoms and access systems can be connected with video surveillance, security systems, communication platforms and home and building automation systems, including KNX environments. 2N cites more than 300 technology partners and develops its products on open protocols to make it easier for integrators to build a complete solution.

For administration, 2N Access Commander and the My2N Management Platform are available, enabling remote device configuration, management of users and access rights, firmware updates and diagnostics. The manufacturer also places strong emphasis on cybersecurity, including support for secure network protocols and regular updates.
