Lithoss – designer switches for modern interiors

Belgian design and intelligent control

Lithoss is a Belgian manufacturer of designer switches, push-buttons and sockets that combines precise craftsmanship, high-quality materials and modern control options. Its collections are intended for homes, commercial spaces and hotels where every detail contributes to the overall interior. A range of finishes, shapes and personalisation options allows the equipment to be matched to the architecture of the space, while selected KNX versions make it possible to control lighting, blinds and other connected functions. With Amplituda, aesthetics and technology become part of the same project.

Materials that give a space its character

Lithoss designs control elements as lasting interior details, with an emphasis on proportion, texture and how they feel in use. The products are made in Belgium, and careful surface finishing gives them a distinctive character. Depending on the collection, the range includes stainless steel, brushed brass and finishes such as Bronze Antique, Gunpowder Black and textured white or black.

Such a choice makes it possible to coordinate the switches with door handles, light fittings, metal profiles and other architectural details. In a light interior, a dark plate can become a clear accent, while warm metal tones complement wood and natural stone. When choosing, it is therefore worth considering the lighting of the space and how the material looks up close. A well-chosen switch attracts attention not only through its appearance but also through the pleasant, reassuring feel of everyday use.

Collections for different interior styles

The Lithoss collections offer different ways to integrate control into a space. Select stands out with its clean geometry and distinctive buttons, while Pixel features smaller control elements and a more restrained visual expression. Cockpit uses characteristic toggle switches, with conical or knurled details that suit both classic and contemporary interiors.

The range is completed by the Aesteem and Squares collections, while Void sockets and connectors allow additional equipment to be matched. When choosing, a photograph alone is not enough: the number of functions, the button layout and how each room is used all matter. Beside the bed, easily accessible lighting and blinds are the priority, while by the exit a single “Leaving” command is practical. The chosen collection should therefore be paired with the right technical version and the planned installation, so that appearance and function are equally well resolved.

KNX control adapted to everyday life

Lithoss switches with an integrated KNX interface can become part of a system that connects lighting, blinds and temperature control. Depending on the model and programming, the buttons are used for switching, dimming, moving blinds or calling up predefined scenes. For example, an “Evening” scene can soften the lighting and lower the blinds, while a “Leaving” command switches off selected lighting circuits. Corresponding versions also offer RGB LED feedback, a temperature sensor and room control of heating and cooling. The user thus gets simple access to functions that are linked in the background through the KNX installation.

It is important to distinguish integrated KNX models from conventional switches and other technology versions: the connection method depends on the specific product. The best user experience comes from a clear command layout, consistent symbols and functions adapted to the household’s habits.

Personalisation for homes and hotels

Personalisation is particularly valuable when the same switch controls several different functions. Lithoss allows text and symbols to be engraved or printed on the buttons or cover plates, with limitations that depend on the chosen finish. Symbols for lighting, blinds or individual scenes help the user immediately understand what each button does. In hotel rooms, such clarity helps guests find their way around, and at home it simplifies everyday use for every member of the family. Combining different finishes for the frame, plate and buttons, as well as special project-specific solutions, can also be considered.

Personalisation is best defined once the functions have been agreed, so that the symbols match the actual behaviour of the system. This links aesthetic customisation with practical value: the equipment looks consistent with the space, and control remains clear and easy to understand.

Amplituda: from selection to integration

Choosing Lithoss equipment starts with understanding the space and how it will be used. Amplituda links the choice of control elements with the design of the KNX system, the layout of the installations and the desired functions. Together we define switch positions, the number of commands, finishes and scenes that make everyday life easier. At this stage it is already important to coordinate back boxes, mounting methods and the required connections with the selected models. This is followed by integration with other equipment, programming and functional testing.

Particular attention should be paid to making the same commands work consistently in different rooms, so that users can easily recognise their purpose. Clear documentation and well-structured control logic make later maintenance and adjustments easier. If you are planning a home, commercial space or hotel, get in touch with Amplituda and we will match Lithoss equipment to your interior and your needs.
