Audio / Video multiroom systems

Music and video in every zone, home cinema and discreetly integrated screens

Amplituda designs and integrates multiroom audio/video systems for residences, commercial spaces, hotels and vessels. The system allows music or video to be played independently in individual zones, as well as together across several spaces. Audio/video equipment can be connected to KNX automation, lighting and blinds so that more complex functions can be triggered with a single scene.

The solution can include home cinemas, video distribution, indoor and outdoor sound systems, and discreetly integrated TVs and projectors. We adapt the choice of equipment to the acoustics, architecture, network infrastructure and the user’s expectations. The goal is for advanced technology to remain simple to use every day.

Sound and picture in every zone

A multiroom system organises a building into separate audio or video zones. You can watch a film in the living room, listen to the radio in the kitchen and play music from another source on the terrace; when needed, several zones can be linked for shared playback, known as Party mode. This approach is particularly practical in larger houses, hotels and on vessels, where controlling a series of unconnected devices would quickly become impractical.

Amplituda aims to bring the most important functions together so that the user does not have to think about the technical structure of the system, but simply chooses the content, the room and the desired volume.

Home cinema as an integrated scene

A home cinema is more than a projector, a screen and speakers. The real value of integration becomes clear when starting a cinema scene simultaneously dims the lights, lowers the blinds or projection screen, switches on the required audio/video devices and selects the right source. Scenes for music, entertaining, presentations or an evening at home can be defined in the same way.

The KNX system links multimedia with the other functions of the space, while the user has a single simple command instead of a series of remote controls and separate apps. The scene logic is always adapted to the actual equipment and the way the space is used.

Premium equipment, discreet installation

Amplituda’s existing projects include technologies from manufacturers such as Bang & Olufsen, Bowers & Wilkins, Denon HEOS and Sonos. The choice of brand is not an end in itself: what matters are the acoustics, playback quality, compatibility and how the equipment will fit into the interior. When a TV or projector does not need to be permanently visible, concealed wall, ceiling, rotating or lift mechanisms can be used, for example solutions from Future Automation.

This allows the functionality of the audio/video system to fit into the architectural concept without unnecessary visual clutter, which is particularly important in prestigious interiors and on yachts. For a further overview of the options and examples of installations, see the PDF presentation of multi-zone systems.

Design before the finishing works

A reliable audio/video system needs to be planned early enough. The positions of speakers, TVs and projectors, cable routes, network connections, signal cables, the location of the central equipment and service access all directly affect the final result. That is why Amplituda links A/V system design with the LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure, lighting, blinds and visualisation.

Timely planning reduces the need for later building work, visible cables and compromises in equipment layout. In hotels and on vessels, usage zones, reliability and simple control of a larger number of sources and devices are also taken into account.

A good multiroom system does not just connect devices – it connects sound, picture and space in a way of use that feels natural to the user. A cinema scene can coordinate the lighting, blinds, projection and sound, while the user sets the whole ambience with a single action.

Frequently asked questions

Can Sonos be integrated with a KNX system?

Yes, depending on the chosen equipment and integration method. Audio functions can be included in shared scenes and central control.

Can different rooms play different content?

Yes. A multiroom system can have independent zones, and several zones can be linked for simultaneous playback when needed.

Can the TV be hidden when it is not in use?

Yes. Depending on the space, wall, ceiling, rotating or lift mechanisms can be used to integrate the screen discreetly into the interior.

When should an audio/video installation be planned?

Ideally during the design phase, before the electrical and building finishing works, so that cables, the network, device positions and service access can be planned in good time.

A multi-zone audio/video system lets you play multimedia content in your home independently in each zone or simultaneously in all zones, known as Party mode.
