LIOQA Resort on the island of Ugljan

From a KNX system to a connected entrance and premium sound

On the island of Ugljan, LIOQA Resort combines contemporary architecture, private villas and a Mediterranean atmosphere. Amplituda equipped the resort with a KNX system, Sonos and Bowers & Wilkins sound systems, and 2N door intercoms integrated with Gira G1 touch panels.

The project covered 24 villas and a restaurant with reception, and the work was completed in August 2024.

Technology that enhances a comfortable stay

LIOQA Resort, on the west coast of the island of Ugljan, is a place of private villas, swimming pools and views of the Adriatic. In such a setting, technology should complement the architecture and comfort of the space naturally.

For Amplituda, this project meant bringing automation, sound and entrance communication together in a solution designed for everyday use in a luxury tourist complex.

The scope of work covered 24 villas and a restaurant with reception. In these buildings Amplituda installed a KNX system and Sonos and Bowers & Wilkins sound systems, while all villas are equipped with 2N door intercoms integrated into Gira G1 touch panels.

KNX as the foundation of automation

The KNX system forms the technological basis of the project. KNX is an open standard that allows compatible devices from different manufacturers to be connected and information to be exchanged between building functions.

Such an architecture makes it possible to combine lighting, shading, heating, cooling and other functions, depending on the installed equipment and configuration. For a complex with many villas, the ability to adapt the system to individual spaces and to expand it later is also important.

In the LIOQA project, the KNX installation covers all 24 villas and the restaurant with reception, establishing a common technological basis for the automation of these buildings.

Sonos and Bowers & Wilkins for a premium music experience

Sound is an integral part of how a space is experienced, from the privacy of a villa to the atmosphere of the restaurant and the welcome at reception. For this project, Amplituda installed Sonos and Bowers & Wilkins equipment in all villas and in the restaurant with reception.

Sonos provides networked music playback and control, while Bowers & Wilkins contributes to the sound quality with its loudspeaker solutions. Together they combine ease of use with attention to the listening experience, in keeping with the character of the resort.

2N door intercoms integrated with Gira G1 panels

All villas have 2N door intercoms integrated into Gira G1 touch panels. This links entrance communication with the device that serves as the user interface of the smart space.

The Gira G1 can combine control of building functions and door intercom communication on the same screen. Integration with the 2N system therefore brings a practical advantage: visitors can be answered from the wall-mounted touch panel, with fewer separate devices in the interior.
